Alright guys listen..Everyone who knows me, knows that Kyrie Irving is my favorite player in the NBA and the Los Angeles Lakers is my favorite team, meaning that if this were to happen it would be the greatest thing since sliced bread. Yes, I said it! I know some people may argue that Kyrie joining LeBron on the Lakers wouldn't quite make sense, being that the main reason he left LeBron and Cleveland in the first place was because he didn't wanna be "Robin" to LeBron's "Batman". Time heals all wounds and as we all know, life comes full circle. We never know where life may lead us. With that being said, let's get to this breakdown.
Kyrie Irving should in fact reunite with LeBron and join Anthony Davis on the Los Angeles Lakers because he has a chance to make history once again and further cement his legacy. The odds would be in his favor, considering the fact that he has already won a championship alongside LeBron James in 2016, hitting "the shot" over Stephen Curry to secure Cleveland's first championship in franchise history. Although Kyrie left in 2017, pairing with LeBron this time around would be different because Anthony Davis will be alongside them as well, which adds a different variable in the situation. Think about it, when Kyrie and LeBron played together all those years ago, LeBron was nowhere near retiring and Kyrie, for his own selfish reasons, knew that he would have to continue to be in LeBron's shadow if he was to stay in Cleveland. Now, the circumstances are completely different. Although Kyrie is my favorite player, I have to be honest. Kyrie failed as "Batman" in Boston, and actually ended up becoming "Robin" again, once he joined forces with Kevin Durant in Brooklyn. Now, if Kyrie was go to Los Angeles he would have to be "Robin" again, but only for a short period of time. LeBron has continuously stated on numerous occasions that he doesn't have that many years left and once he plays his one season with his son, he will most likely call it quits on his legendary career. Put yourself in Kyrie's shoes, the pros significantly outweighs the cons. Yes, Kyrie would be joining the Lakers to become the 2nd or 3rd option behind LeBron and AD for a couple of years, but once LeBron retires Kyrie will be the man in Tinseltown. He will be a bonafide star, making millions of dollars, living in LA, and winning championships. Not to mention, the late great Kobe Bryant was a mentor for Kyrie and has been a heavy influence in his career. Kobe would surely approve of Kyrie playing for the legendary franchise. Kyrie has a great relationship with Lakers Player Development Coach Phil Handy as well, being that Handy was part of the 2016 Cavs coaching staff with LeBron and Kyrie. Kyrie's play style fits perfectly under the bright lights and he would give the Crypto Center a show on a nightly basis. LeBron wants Kyrie, the fans want Kyrie, and I'm pretty sure Anthony Davis wants him as well. Make it happen Kyrie, the world is waiting..
